Week 40
Ya another week, same as all the others.

We found the two kids that the sisters left for us that have everything in order and "ready" to be baptized...but turns out the dad is apostate so it's gonna be harder than we thought to baptize them.

My companion likes to cook and he is making us some brownies today!  We found a box of Betty Crocker Brownie Mix at the store so of course we bought it!  Anyway, last week he made pancakes on P-Day, so that's something to look forward to!!!  Our Pensionista, who usually makes our meals, works outside of the home, so she lets us use the kitchen on P-days and we do the dishes so that she doesn't have to worry about that.

Mom asked about my clothes and I would say they're still in pretty good condition, except that some of my pants are faded from the knee up.  I guess the sun has literally bleached them, because I have no idea why else they would be faded like that?!?  And no, it hasn't gotten cooler here at all!  At least in Arequipa it rains in the afternoons.  Here and everywhere else that I've been is just outright hot and I've only seen rain a couple of times!

We had an investigator come to church yesterday.  We were sort of surprised because we just met him on the street and gave him a quick lesson and invited him to church. So he came!  It was Fast and Testimony Meeting so I don't know how he liked that.  We'll have to follow-up with him and see.  I literally didn't know that it was Easter until mom asked me whether they have any kind of celebrations for it here.  I guess they don't, at least not here in Moquegua that I know of.

Our Mission President goes home in one and a half transfers.  Our new President is from Salt Lake City and is married to one of President Nelson's daughters!  We should get to go to Arequipa to say good-bye to Pres. Johnson, and hello to the new President.  That will be cool!

I can't think of anything else that happened. I did find some Canada Dry at the plaza which is cool.

That's it lol.

Peace

Week 39

As I finished the subject I realized it might seem a little weird for someone who doesn't know I just do "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" quotes as my subject heading.

So not a ton happened this week.

I literally can't think of anything, but we have a lot of good investigators. The biggest problem is probably finding some of them. A lot of times they don't answer their phones or houses so ya it's annoying. We are trying though!

Good news is that I hit 9 months this Thursday! I decided a while ago to do a Spanish update for each month but I def forgot the last like 3 months hahaha. But yeah, Spanish is good, even though I'm still learning lots every day obviously. Not much else to say about that.

I finally downloaded all my pics just barely so here they come!

Week 38

pretty good week. not a ton happened though lol

We had divisions with some other elders on Tuesday so that was fun.
We also put two more dates for baptism this week with this mom and her daughter which is amazing, we put the date for the 20th.

General Conference was sick. We gotta watch it in English so that was really nice. My favorite talk was probably the one by Elder Holland on Saturday when he just basically roasted everyone. I thought it was super sweet!

We did go to the mall today and I did buy a bunch more mtn dew and stuff so tha'ts good hahah.

Peace,

Week 37

Pretty good week here in Moquegua

so ya we are opening this area, there were sister missionaries here before us, they left us a lot of good people that we are trying to find. We put a date with one of them for the 20th and we also put a date with a reference we got for the 20th as well, so that is cool.

I need to give you a quick update about the baptism we had two Saturdays ago. so ya it went well, the only thing I want to update is that we overflowed the font hahhah so that was interesting. I took a video but I don't have my camera with me, so I will have to send my new pics and stuff next week or whenever haha. (Which is what he says every week)

Today we went to plazavea (the big mall) and I spent a ton of money lol. I found mountain dew there so I had to buy a ton of it cause it's so good. They also had snickers and kit kats and peanut butter and nutella so I had to buy all that too hahahhaa. I also bought this mini George Foreman type grill thing for like 25 sols so now I can make grilled cheese and stuff whenever I want. And it's super small so I can just take it with me when I move areas.

Our pension has a super nice house, our room is pretty small but its chill cause we basically have the whole house to ourselves cause she works during the day.

Anyway, that's pretty much it.
